Our Slogan

The General Employees' Retirement System of the city of Pompano Beach was originally created by the City Commission to provide retirement benefits to full time general employees of the City, as specified in Ordinance §34.010-§34.040 of the City Code of Ordinances.  The Retirement System is administered by the Board of Trustees in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance.

This website has been designed to provide access to information concerning the Retirement System to Plan Members and other interested parties.


It is with great sadness that we report the death of our Chairman, Reginald W. Watkins, on Wednesday, May 25th, 2011.

Reg joined the Board as an appointee of the City Commission in 2002, and held the office of Vice Chairman from 2007 through 2010; he was elected Chairman in 2011.

No memorial service will be held.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers or other condolences, a donation be made in Reg’s name to the charity of the giver’s choice.
